I know I went MIA. Life hit me hard the last couple of weeks so I have been trying to just mentally get myself together. I won’t spend much time explaining why, but there has been some good and some bad.
On the 15th, I got a late night call from my Dad, which any call after 8pm means bad news in my family. My grandfather, who has been in a nursing home for a few years due to Alzheimer’s, passed away. Losing a grandparent is tough to begin with, but losing my Pops was rough since he was the first close relative I’ve lost in my life.
I had less than 12 hours at home after the funeral before I headed to West Virginia for work. While it was great to see snow, most of the trip involved me trying to reschedule my return flight to avoid the impending blizzard. A mere 4 days in town was all the recovery time I had before I went to New York City for a work trip. Sadly the schedule was so busy, I didn’t have a chance to see any of the sites.
I am honestly wiped and need a break. I’m going to set up a long weekend soon just to recover. But I am excited to get back in the swing of things and continue to share about life, love, and travel.
